Reclaiming Mental Health:

Brave, Vulnerable, Unapologetically Human

About the Book

Sarah Sturino - Lead Author

This anthology brings together the voices of Canadian women who chose to share their stories of sleepless nights, racing thoughts, and waves of despair.

Their journeys through pain, fear, confusion, and sensitivity are raw, tender, and courageous reminders that we are not broken—we are souls having a human experience.

May these words encourage you to remember your own wholeness, and to begin reclaiming your mind, your story, and your self.

Book cover titled "Reclaiming Mental Health" showing a brain with one half illustrated as a gray neural structure surrounded by colorful flowers, butterflies, a mountain, a lake, and a sunrise.

My Chapter: The Line in the Sand

My story in this book is about the moment I learned to choose myself.

For years, I was the calm in everyone else's storm. Until a devastating loss cracked me open and forced me to see what I'd been refusing to face—that I couldn't save anyone by abandoning myself.

The Line in the Sand is about boundaries, burnout, and the sacred no that became my reclamation of self.
